The Princess of Wales, nicknamed Lady Di, who died at the age of 36 following a car accident in Paris on 31 August 1997, would have turned 60 on Thursday, 1 July. The statue, dedicated to him, by Ian Rank-Broadley, was unveiled in the “hidden garden” of Kensington Palace on Thursday. Here was his residence, which has since become the official residence of Prince William.
After barely speaking in the last 18 months, princes William and Harry exchanged words about England’s victory at the euros, according to DailyMail. And the discussion continued, with the brothers going together to the gardens to remember their late mother.

The emotional event took place in the presence of a group of just 30 people, including some members of the Spencer family. Diana’s brothers Earl Spencer, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes attended. But he was not his ex-husband. Prince Charles, whom Lady Di married 40 years ago on July 29, 1981, and divorced in 1996, did not attend the ceremony because of “regrettable memories” so as not to reopen old wounds,” according to close friends quoted by the English press.
To mark Thursday’s inauguration, the royal family sent a message from Princes William and Harry on Twitter paying tribute to Princess Diana: “Today, in what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that have made her a force for good around the world , changing many lives for the better”.
It was the couple’s first reunion since the crisis caused by Prince Harry’s harsh statements about his role with the royal family, as well as the shocking interview with his wife, Meghan Markle, to US TV presenter Oprah Winfrey in March this year. William and Harry had another brief meeting in April at the funeral of Prince Philip, who did not, however, remove tensions between them.
The image of the British royal family was severely damaged when the two, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, suggested in the television interview that one of the members of the family had behaved in a racist manner when he asked a question, before the birth of their son Archie, about the colour of the baby’s skin.

The Dukes of Sussex have two children, Meghan Markle gave birth on June 4, 2021 to a baby girl, whom she and Prince Harry named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, after Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.
Harry retained his place in the line of succession, despite giving up his royal life. This is the sixth in line for the throne of the United Kingdom. His father, Prince Charles, is first, followed by his brother, Prince William, in second place, then his grandchildren (the children of his brother William), in order: George, third place, Charlotte, fourth, and Louis (fifth place in the line for the throne). Archie and Lilibet, Prince Harry’s two children, follow him in seventh and eighth places. With the birth of the couple’s second child Harry and Meghan, the Duke of York, Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth, born in 1960, moved to ninth place.
